Foxes Squads Enhance Pre-Season Programme With David Lloyd Partnership

Leicestershire County Cricket Club can today announce an expansion to the Club’s partnership with David Lloyd Leisure ahead of the 2024 season.

The partnership with the Leicester Meridian branch will now see Leicestershire Women join the Men’s team in stepping up their preparations for the 2024 campaign.

The deal follows the Club’s latest step in aligning the Women and Girls’ pathway with the Men’s setup to create greater equity, with the programme moving to the Cricket Pillar under the leadership of Director of Cricket, Claude Henderson.

Players and coaches from both squads have benefitted from regular use of the branch’s state-of-the-art fitness and health facility across the winter so far, with David Lloyd enhancing performance gains and post-session player recovery.

Both sets of players have been utilising gym, pool and spa facilities at the Meridian centre alongside their work at Uptonsteel County Ground to boost their strength and conditioning work outlined by the Club’s sports science and medicine department.

Leicestershire CCC Director of Cricket, Claude Henderson, said: “After a highly successful 2023 season for both our Men’s and Women’s sides, we are now in the process of ensuring both squads are better prepared than ever to replicate their achievements this summer.

“David Lloyd Leicester Meridian provided first-class facilities for our Men’s team throughout last season, and we’re thrilled our Women now also have access to the branch’s range of services.”
