Foxes To Face Staffordshire In T20 Double-Header

Leicestershire will face Staffordshire in two T20 matches as part of their Vitality Blast preparations this summer.

The third NCCA Showcase Game between the two counties in four years, the latest meeting will take place on Friday 9 May at Uptonsteel County Ground.

It follows 50-over clashes at Knypersley ahead of the Metro Bank One Day Cup during the 2022 and 2023 campaigns “ a competition the Foxes famously went on to win in 2023.

This year’s fixture will be the first at Grace Road since 1998, where a Chris Lewis five-fer and an unbeaten Phil Simmonds hundred earned Leicestershire victory in the first round of the National Westminster Bank Trophy.

Both matches will aid the Foxes “ led by newly-appointed T20 skipper, Louis Kimber “ with their preparations for the 2025 Vitality Blast, as the three-time champions ready themselves for the visit of East Midlands rivals Derbyshire Falcons on Friday 30 May.

Entry is FREE for Leicestershire and Staffordshire Members. General admission tickets are available ONLINE now, priced at £5 for adults and just £1 for juniors. This will cover both games in the day. Onsite parking is also available for £5.

Finalised start times will be confirmed in due course, with the possibility of a floodlit fixture still being explored.
