Gift of Cricketmas Campaign a Resounding Success

Local Businesses Spread Joy to Charities Across Leicestershire

Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s heart warming Gift of Cricketmas campaign has received incredible backing from local businesses, who stepped up to donate memberships to a host of deserving charities across the region.

The initiative, launched in December, aimed to bring the joy of cricket, community, and experiences to those who need it most - and thanks to the generosity of our partners, the impact has been felt far and wide.

Among the supporters was Iain McKenzie of Mattioli Woods, who donated two Club memberships Plus T20 to Samaritans, offering a chance for their volunteers and service users to enjoy a summer of cricket at the Uptonsteel County Ground.

John Hayes of Champions (UK) PLC extended his support with two Club Memberships Plus T20 going to Rainbows Children’s Hospice, ensuring families and children under their care can make lasting memories in 2025.

Simon Taylor of Melton Mowbray Building Society donated a pair of Club Plus T20 memberships to Edgars Gift, a local charity supporting young adults with cancer.

Richard Osborn of Excello Law ensured Bamboozle, a charity creating immersive experiences for learning-disabled children, received two Club memberships.

And in a particularly generous gesture, Lisa Webb from Persimmon Homes donated eight Club Memberships Plus T20 packages to Menphys, helping young people with disabilities and their families enjoy the cricket in comfort and style.

This campaign, rooted in the idea that sport should be accessible and enjoyable for all, has once again demonstrated the strength of community spirit across Leicestershire and Rutland.

Leicestershire CCC would like to thank every donor who took part, and we look forward to welcoming these fantastic charities and their guests to the Uptonsteel County Ground this summer.
