Green Named In Young Lions Name Training Squad

Alex Green has been selected for England Men Under 19’s training camp in South Africa next month.

The 17-year-old will be part of an 18-player squad to train in Stellenbosch from 25 November to 16 December as preparation for the upcoming series against South Africa U19s in January and February 2025.

Green, who signed his first professional contract with the Club last month, marked his England Under 19 Test debut in July with two wickets against Sri Lanka, while he has claimed 12 wickets at 16.5 in 50-over cricket for the Young Lions.

The 6ft 6” seamer also caught the eye for Leicestershire’s First Team, picking up four wickets as the Foxes reached the semi-final stages of the Metro Bank One Day Cup, before making his first-class debut against Derbyshire during the final round of the 2024 campaign.
