Green Selected For India Youth ODI Series

Alex Green has been named in England Men Under-19’s squad for the five-match Youth One-Day International series against India Men U19s, starting later this month.

The 6ft 7” seamer has claimed 13 wickets at just 16.46 from his six England appearances in 50-over cricket to date, bested by returns of five for 50 against Scotland in the tri-series last September.

Green, who has made four senior appearances for Leicestershire, also gained the opportunity to showcase his skills against international opposition when featuring for the Professional Cricket Counties Select XI against Zimbabwe’s Test stars at Uptonsteel County Ground last month.

England Men U19 Head Coach, Mike Yardy, said: “We’ve selected an exciting squad for the ODI series. We have players who have a variety of white-ball skills and predominantly available for the ICC Under-19 World Cup in the winter.

“India Under-19s will provide a great challenge this summer and it’s a great opportunity for the boys to perform as a team and individually.”

The series begins at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove on Friday 27 June before matches in Northampton and Worcester.
