It’s Quarter-Final day at Uptonsteel County Ground, as Leicestershire welcome Hampshire in a repeat of last year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup final.
The Foxes secured a home quarter-final in dramatic fashion on Wednesday, recovering from 19/3 to win by four-wickets against Gloucestershire thanks to fifties from overseas duo Ajinkya Rahane and Peter Handscomb.
Last year’s runners-up booked their place in the knockout rounds with a 19-run over Middlesex, steered by fine displays from Toby Albert and Kyle Abbott.

Do you really need reminding? Just in case, allow us to recap.
Lewis Hill won the toss and elected to bat first, but saw his side slip to 89/6 before the halfway mark. Step forward Harry Swindells and Sam Evans. The two added 151 for the seventh wicket, a new Leicestershire record, with Swindells (117*) registering his maiden List A century to guide the side to 267/7.
Backed by a partisan crowd at Trent Bridge, the Foxes struck at regular intervals with the ball to set up a tense finish. Josh Hull held his nerve to defend eight off the final over and see Leicestershire lift their first List A trophy for 38 years.
Decisive Duel:
Peter Handscomb’s ice cool composure under pressure has been crucial in the previous two matches, with the Australian hitting match-winning knocks from 59/5 and 19/3 respectively.
He has 354 runs at an average of 59 this term, taking his total to 755 runs at 58.07 for the Foxes in 50-over cricket. The Australian international is Leicestershire’s insurance policy if early wickets go down.
He’ll have to come up against South African bowler Kyle Abbott, Hampshire’s top wicket-taker with 11 at 22.27. The 37-year-old has kept things incredibly tight as well, boasting an economy rate of just 4.14 so far this campaign.
