Hull Receives First England Test Call-Up

Leicestershire bowler Josh Hull has earned his first call-up to England Men's Test squad.

The 20-year-old seamer replaces Mark Wood in the squad for the two remaining Tests against Sri Lanka, starting at Lord's on Thursday.

Hull, who stands at 6ft 7in, has been a pivotal figure in Leicestershire's bowling attack since his debut in 2023, taking 52 wickets across formats. He also starred on England Lions debut earlier this month, taking five for 74 in the Lions' seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.

The Academy graduate is the latest Fox to receive a call-up to England’s Test outfit, following teammate Rehan Ahmed, who became the youngest player in the history of men’s cricket to take a five-fer on debut during England’s tour of Pakistan in December 2022.

A highly rated prospect, Hull signed a new long-term contract with Leicestershire in June.

To watch Josh in action for Leicestershire next summer, secure an Early Bird Membership from Thursday 29 August.
