Jigar Naik To Assist England Men's Physically Disabled Team

Jigar Naik will assist England Men’s Physically Disabled team during their upcoming quad series against Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan.

The Foxes’ Head of Talent Pathway will fly to Sri Lanka in early January to be Assistant Coach to Chris Highton, helping the 15-strong group led by captain Callum Flynn.

Naik continues in the role having been in the coaching setup for England’s narrow 3-2 series defeat in India earlier this year.

The 40-year-old has also coached at the team’s two-day training camps at Edgbaston and Loughborough across the past 12 months.

England will play six times across the series, twice each against hosts Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan respectively, with the top two competing in the final.

Discussing the role, Naik said: “It’s an incredible opportunity for the lads to test themselves against some of the best teams in the world. They’ve put in a lot of hard yards since the last series and I’m really excited to see how they perform.

“I love working with the boys, who are striving to be the best in world. It gives me a further insight into the minds of elite players and gives me fresh ideas on how to adapt my coaching at Leicestershire.

“All the lads have been on incredibly inspiring journeys, so anything I can do to help them improve their game is an honour.”
