Josh Hull Signs New Three-Year Extension With Leicestershire

Leicestershire CCC is delighted to announce seamer Josh Hull has committed his future to the Club for a further three years.

The new deal will keep one of English cricket’s hottest prospects at Uptonsteel County Ground until the end of the 2026 season.

Fast-tracked to the First Team last summer after signing a rookie deal in October 2022, Hull has made 23 appearances for Leicestershire to date, taking 35 wickets.

A 6ft 7” bowler capable of generating significant pace and bounce, Hull’s most impressive performances came during Leicestershire’s Metro Bank One Day Cup winning campaign, with the Academy graduate snaring 17 wickets at an average of 24.73.

Hull’s finest hour arose during September’s final, as the 19-year-old held his nerve to successfully defend eight runs from the final over to see his side home by two runs - earning the Foxes their first List A trophy in 38 years.

The left-arm quick has also caught the eye in T20 cricket, starring in last Friday’s opening round victory over Yorkshire Vikings by claiming his career-best figures of 3/28.

Upon signing his new deal, Hull told Foxes TV: “I’m thrilled to extend my time with Leicestershire. I absolutely loved my first year as a professional and I’m excited for the next few seasons ahead.

“If you told me all the things I’d achieve last year, I’d have snapped your hand off. To finish off with a trophy, winning the One Day Cup, it was very special. Hopefully we can make more memories like that.

“I love the group of lads and the coaches here, as well as the vibe and the whole feeling around the Club. I have a really good relationship with Fonz [Alfonso Thomas], he has so much knowledge and being able to tap into that is great. I feel Leicestershire is the best place for me to develop and grow as a player.”
