Josh Hull To Make Comeback In Rearranged Seconds' Opener

Josh Hull will make his return from injury during this week’s Second Eleven Championship (SEC) opener against Worcestershire.

The 19-year-old has been absent from Leicestershire’s first two Vitality County Championship fixtures after suffering a side strain in the latter stages of pre-season but is included in the 12-man squad for Tuesday’s clash at Kibworth.

Hull travelled with the squad to Yorkshire for the Foxes’ opening fixture at Headingley to continue his rehabilitation with the Club’s sports science and medicine department, increasing his bowling intensity across the four days.

The 6ft 7” bowler starred in his maiden professional season last summer after graduating through Leicestershire’s Academy. The left-armer debuted in all formats and picked up 32 wickets, while he famously bowled the match-winning last over in the Foxes’ Metro Bank One Day Cup final triumph.

Boosted by the returning Hull, Dips Patel’s side kick off the defence of their SEC title with five First Teamers available, as Harry Swindells, Sam Evans, Sol Budinger, and Sam Wood are also included.

The visit of Worcestershire, which was originally due to start on Monday at Fleckney Road, will now be played over three days, beginning on Tuesday (11am).
