Leicestershire County Cricket Club to Rebrand Ground as Uptonsteel Grace Road from 2026 Season

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is proud to confirm that from the start of the 2026 domestic cricket season, the Club’s historic ground will be officially renamed Uptonsteel Grace Road, reinforcing the club’s heritage while celebrating its long-term partnership with Uptonsteel.

Affectionately known simply as Grace Road since cricket was first played there in 1877, the ground has been the heart of cricket in Leicestershire for nearly 150 years. The updated name “ Uptonsteel Grace Road “ preserves that heritage while recognising the invaluable support of Uptonsteel as principal club partner.

Over its long history, Grace Road has played host to unforgettable moments “ from county milestones and international fixtures to community celebrations that bring people together through cricket. The new name reflects a balance of tradition and future ambition, symbolising the Club’s commitment to progress both on and off the field.

“Grace Road holds a special place in the hearts of everyone connected to Leicestershire cricket. It’s a ground steeped in history, and we wanted to ensure that heritage remains front and centre as we continue to build for the future. Uptonsteel have been fantastic partners to the Club for many years, and this updated name reflects both our shared values and our long-term vision for cricket in Leicestershire.”

Uptonsteel’s partnership with the Club has gone from strength to strength. Initially becoming front-of-shirt sponsor for Leicestershire’s domestic men’s teams in 2018, they expanded their involvement in January 2021 by securing stadium naming rights. This next evolution highlights Uptonsteel’s continued commitment to supporting cricket across the county.

The adoption of the Uptonsteel Grace Road name will take effect immediately ahead of the 2026 domestic season. Updated stadium branding and signage will be unveiled in due course, with details communicated to supporters and partners throughout 2025.
