Leicestershire CCC can today announce Bakers Environmental Waste as the Club’s first Sustainable Waste and Recycling Partner.
One of the UK’s leading waste, recycling, and sustainability specialists, Bakers will help the Club make significant strides in its commitment to achieving environmental sustainability.
The collaboration will enable both parties to challenge the norm and explore innovative waste management practices.
By increasing the segregation of materials at Uptonsteel County Ground, the award-winning family business will ensure a greater variety of waste streams are being recycled effectively.
A move to partner with a local supplier has also reduced the distance required to transport materials, further enhancing the environmental benefits of the new partnership.
John Williams, Commercial Director at Leicestershire CCC, said: “As a Club, we are always exploring new ways to enhance our sustainability and champion our unwavering commitment to being environmentally friendly.
“This partnership will undoubtedly strengthen that ambition at a time where the sustainability of our resource management is at the forefront.â€
Paul Baker, Managing Director at Bakers Environmental Waste, said: “Partnering with Leicestershire County Cricket Club is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the impact of efficient and sustainable waste management.
“We're really looking forward to working closer with the Club and supporting them in their commitment to environmental responsibility.â€
