Leicestershire Sign Seamer Yadvinder Singh on Short-Term Deal

Leicestershire County Cricket Club have signed right-arm seamer Yadvinder Singh on a short-term professional contract ahead of the start of the 2026 season.

The 30-year-old has trained with the Foxes throughout the winter at Uptonsteel Grace Road, impressing the Club’s coaching staff, and will be available for selection during the opening month of the campaign.

Singh’s arrival comes at a time when the Club’s seam bowling department has been impacted by injuries, with the experienced seamer adding valuable depth and cover ahead of the opening fixtures.

Singh brings further experience to the squad, having previously signed professional terms with Worcestershire in 2024. He made an immediate impact on his First-Class debut against Surrey at the Kia Oval, claiming four wickets, including both openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley.

A graduate of the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA), Singh has been a consistent performer in recent seasons, featuring prominently in both First-Class and Second XI cricket. His performances played a key role in Worcestershire’s run to the Second Eleven Championship Final in 2025.

Head Coach, Alfonso Thomas said:
"Yadvinder has been with us over the winter and has impressed with both his skill and attitude. With a few injuries in our seam group, it’s a good opportunity for him and he adds important depth to the squad at the start of the season."

On joining the Foxes, Singh added:
"I’m really pleased to be given this opportunity with Leicestershire. I’ve enjoyed my time training with the squad and I’m excited to contribute over the first part of the season."

Singh becomes the latest addition to the Foxes’ pace attack as preparations continue for the new campaign.
