Leicestershire Women and Girls Celebrate Memorable Season

Leicestershire’s Women and Girls’ sides united to celebrate another memorable season at their annual awards night on Wednesday evening.
The night toasted a year decorated with success on both a team and individual level. The Foxes’ Women won the East of England Championship, whilst they also played in a duo of T20 double headers alongside the Men’s First Team for the first time.
At Under 18 level, the side took on both Norfolk and Warwickshire in their maiden appearance at Uptonsteel County Ground in August, while U18s & U15s star Flora Davies was crowned The Blaze Academy’s Player of the Year.
Top run-scorer Lucy Weston won U18 Batter of the Year, while 25 wickets at 10.68 helped D’Nica Roff earn Bowler of the Year. In her final year as an U18’s player, Aimee Colquhoun picked up Fielder of the Year, while at the opposite end of the spectrum, Isla-Rose Williamson won Coaches’ Player in her maiden summer with Stephen Franklin’s side.
Isla-Rose completed a Coaches’ Player double with the Under 15s award “ scoring 205 runs and taking 10 wickets at just 12 in the 2023 campaign. 293 runs at a mighty 73.25 earned Flora Davies Batter of the Year, while Erin Farrow and Reanna Patel took home Bowler and Fielder of the Year respectively.
At Under 13 level, Katie Gray received Batter of the Year, while Rihanna Underwood won Bowler of the Year “ helped by match-winning returns of 3/12 in a 1-run victory over Notts. Althea Hoult claimed Fielder of the Year, and Bea Farnworth-Nourish won Coaches’ Player for Angus Youles’ side.
Alice Howlett was presented with the Under 11 Batter of the Year trophy, with Poppy Rhodes, who took three wickets to win a last over thriller against Northamptonshire, named Bowler of the Year. Imogen Major was chosen as Fielder of the Year, while Elodie Robinson was crowned Coaches’ Player by Head Coach Mira Patel.
