Leicestershire CCC is delighted to announce that long-serving batter Lewis Hill has been awarded a Testimonial Year in 2026.
Hill first represented the Club at Under-15 level in 2006, before making his professional debut for Leicestershire against Kent during the 2015 season.
The 34-year-old has gone on to score more than 8,000 runs for the county since, captaining the Foxes across four seasons, most notably as Club Captain during the 2023 and 2024 campaigns.
His first season as captain culminated in Leicestershire lifting the Metro Bank One Day Cup, the Club’s first List A trophy for 38 years.
The award follows an outstanding Championship summer for Hill, with the homegrown batter finishing the year as Leicestershire’s leading run-scorer en route to lifting the Division Two title.
Discussing the award of his Testimonial, Hill said: “It’s an incredibly proud honour to have been awarded a Testimonial Year.
“It’s been a privilege to have played for Leicestershire for more than 10 years. We’ve achieved some amazing things as a Club, and I can’t wait to see how we can continue to grow in the seasons ahead.â€
Club Chair, John Thorpe, said: “Lewis has personified the qualities we endorse as a Club for over a decade, and we can think of nobody more deserving to recognise.
“Alongside his exceptional abilities on the field, Lewis has shown unwavering loyalty, leadership, and been a model professional for our younger players to emulate. As a Club, we look forward to showing our appreciation for his staunch service across the next 12 months.â€
Details on Lewis’ chosen charities and calendar of events will be announced in due course.
