Masood Concludes Successful Foxes Stint

Shan Masood will miss Leicestershire’s final fixture of the 2025 campaign after being given permission to return home ahead of the Pakistan domestic season.

After debuting against former county Derbyshire in May, the stylish left-hander went on to score 861 runs across all three formats during his spell with the Foxes.

He etched his name into the Club’s history books by becoming the eighth Leicestershire player to score a hundred on Championship debut - making 111 against Gloucestershire - before his 90 against Kent last week helped Alfonso Thomas’ side to the Division Two title.

Masood also reached three figures against Essex during the Metro Bank One Day Cup, a campaign in which the Pakistan Test skipper finished as the side’s top scorer with 400 runs at an average of 50.

Director of Cricket, Claude Henderson, said: “We want to thank Shan for all his contributions and the first-class commitment he has given to us throughout this season.

“He has represented the Fox impeccably and been a highly respected presence in our changing room. We wish him all the best for his upcoming season back home.”

Division Two winners Leicestershire travel to Northamptonshire for their season finale and champions coronation this week, with the fixture at The County Ground getting underway on Wednesday.
