After two wins on the bounce, Leicestershire will head north to Yorkshire brimming with confidence as they prepare to take on one of the heavy hitters in round four of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Stephen Franklin’s side defeated Cheshire by seven-wickets on Saturday, the same victory margin they secured in their previous 50-over contest when beating Kent at Canterbury.
Yorkshire will also be full of belief after a thumping 315-run win over Derbyshire in their last game in the format.
“It’s A Challenge†| Franklin Prepared For Tough Yorkshire Test
“It’s very pleasing to have had back-to-back wins. Our ability to bounce back has been brilliant, and those two victories have given a lot of confidence to the squad.
“We’ve learned a lot as a group so far. The first two games, that wasn’t us. We didn’t showcase what we can do, but the group stuck together and discussed how we can improve. We’ve taken the game to the opposition more, made it difficult for opposing sides to set fields, and kept the pressure on throughout when we’ve fielded.
“Against Kent, we put all three facets together and showed what we’re capable of. It makes it tough to select our final XI now, because they all bring something to the team, but we’re really excited by the group we’ve got.
“On paper, Yorkshire are by far the toughest opposition we’ll have to play. They’ve shown why they should be a Tier One team with the calibre of players they’ve got, but ultimately that’s where you assess where you are. The pressure’s on them. It’s a challenge, but one our group are embracing.â€
