It’s the one that always matters most to the Foxes faithful, as East Midlands bragging rights are put on the line when the Outlaws arrive at Uptonsteel County Ground on Thursday evening.
A local rivalry filled with ferocity, Leicestershire enter the Derby Day clash on the back of a convincing win over Worcestershire on Sunday, buoyed by the starring comeback display of all-rounder Ben Mike.
Similarly, Notts will be high on confidence following a final-ball chase of 207 against the Bears last time out, led by Tom Moores’ blistering 74 not out from just 33 balls.
Squad:
Sam Wood comes back into contention, while Harry Swindells and Roman Walker drop out of the matchday squad following their involvement with the Second XI in Horsham this week.
Leicestershire Foxes: Ahmed, Budinger, Cox+, Hill, Kimber*, Masood, Mike, Patel, Salisbury, Scriven, Trevaskis, van Beek, Wood.
Famous Fixture:
It was 16 years ago this month since a Jim Allenby masterclass sealed a commanding 70-run success for the Foxes over their nearest rivals.
The Australian all-rounder crunched 110 from only 58 balls, including eight sixes, to help Leicestershire reach their highest T20 total against the Outlaws “ 205 for two.
With the ball, Allenby snared three for 25, while Harry Gurney (3/21) and Wayne White (3/27) also took three wickets apiece, to dismiss Notts for 135.
Decisive Duel:
With a century in each of his previous two Blast campaigns, Rishi Patel packs a mighty punch in T20 cricket. And while he hasn’t quite hit those heights yet in 2025, his firepower up top is enough to strike fear into opposition eyes.
Registering scores of 27, 36 and 26 on Grace Road so far this term, he’s ready to convert one of those starts into another match-winning total. And with a Blast strike rate of 135.5, Patel’s someone who can make a devastating impact in the blink of an eye.
One man who can stop him in his tracks early is Dillion Pennington. The former Worcestershire seamer has made a strong start to the competition, taking 10 wickets at 23.8 in his opening seven matches.
Tickets:
Tickets can be purchased in advance ONLINE, starting from just £7. Tickets on the gate can also be purchased via the Curzon Road entrance on the day.
