Fresh from their thumping seven-wicket win over Kent last time out, Leicestershire will be looking for back-to-back victories when they take on Cheshire at Uptonsteel County Ground on Sunday.
There’s a switch of format for the Foxes, who will play their maiden Vitality T20 Women's County Cup fixture, a new knockout competition with progression and elimination riding on every round.
Leicestershire had a bye in round one, while Cheshire defeated Lincolnshire by 10 runs on Monday to seal their place at Grace Road this weekend, as both sides vie for a spot at Finals’ Day on 26 May.
“We Know What We’re Capable Of†| Patel Confident After First Win
In camp, we knew it was coming, because we know what we’re capable of. We just needed that win to build confidence, so we're looking to kick on now.
“The group are very much together on and off the field. There’s great unity, they work hard for each other, and that translates on the field with the energy and trust they show,
“We’ve played enough cricket to know what the difference is [between 50-over and T20 cricket] and what’s required. They know both formats really well, it’s the same ball, and if we follow our processes, we’ll be fine.â€
“Anyone can beat anyone in this format, and that’s the beauty of this new competition. We’ll stick to our strengths regardless of the opposition and we just hope we can put on a show for the crowd.â€
