It’s quarter-final time, as Leicestershire battle Lancashire Thunder at Kibworth with a place at Finals Day on the line.

After beating Northamptonshire Steelbacks by 41 runs on Saturday, Stephen Franklin’s side are just one win from a trip to Taunton to compete for the maiden Vitality T20 Women's County Cup trophy.

Lancashire secured their spot in the final eight with a commanding 81-run win over Glamorgan, led by England stars Emma Lamb and Sophie Ecclestone.

“It’s going to be a really good experience for the girls testing ourselves against a different level of competition. I’m really excited to see the big stars and see what we can do against them.

“I’ve worked with Jigs [Jigar Naik] ahead of this game, which is huge for my development. It’s taking my bowling to the next level. He’s got me thinking tactically about angles, which is something I really want to show against Lancashire.

“Finals Day is something we’ve spoken about. It would feel like all the hard work we put in over the winter has paid off. We’re going to go in with some grit and show them what we can do. We’re looking forward to having the chance to win our spot.”

Squad:

Two alterations to the squad, as both Molly Abraham and Sophie Bennett both come into contention. Hayley Brown is unavailable for Friday’s clash.

Entry is free for all spectators, who are advised to bring their own seating. The match, which is taking place at Kibworth Cricket Club, is due to begin at 1:30pm.
