After three successive wins on home soil, Leicestershire Women will ride a wave of momentum when they kick off part one of Sunday’s away day double-header against the Rapids.
The Foxes head to New Road in second place after earning a nail-biting, final over victory versus Derbyshire last time out, knowing victory and a defeat for Northamptonshire at Headingley would secure a spot at Finals Day.
Worcestershire sit bottom of the North Group with one win from six so far, with Stephen Franklin’s side beating the Rapids by seven wickets in the reverse fixture last month.
“It’s Been Invaluable†| Hughes Relishing Leicestershire Loan Spell
“This loan has been brilliant. Even though I knew a few of the girls growing up around the circuit, there were a few nerves, but they’ve been so welcoming. It’s been easy to settle in.
“It’s a really good environment, so I’m pleased I’ve come over and been able to contribute to Leicestershire wins. We’ve built some great momentum already.
“It’s been great to get an opportunity to bat after being injured for a long time. It’s been invaluable to get that time in the middle and take the gloves for a game as well. It’s been perfect to get me back going.
“That game against Worcestershire was a really convincing win. It was a great all-round team performance with some individual standouts - the way Cesca batted and Lucy’s four-fer - but the team came together really well and made it into a comfortable win.â€
