Match Preview | Women's T20 Blast | Worcestershire Rapids | 16 June 2025

The first course of a delectable double-header of T20 action this Sunday, Leicestershire Women will go in search of their maiden Vitality Blast victory when they take on Worcestershire Rapids.

Stephen Franklin’s side have come out on the wrong side of two closely fought contests so far but will be buoyed by the addition of new arrival Scarlett Hughes, who joined on loan from The Blaze on Saturday.

It’s been a similar story for Worcestershire who have also lost both T20 clashes to date. Needing a-run-ball 20 at the death against Northamptonshire last time out, they collapsed from 113 for three after 16.4 overs to 119 for seven by the innings’ conclusion.

Squad:

Hughes comes straight into the squad after joining on loan from The Blaze. She replaces Holly Whitfield, who is unavailable this weekend, in the matchday 13.

Leicestershire Foxes: Brooker*, Bennett, Colquhoun, Crofts, Davies, Herathge, Hughes, Phillips, Roff, Sweet, Thatcher, Watson, Weston.

"We'd Love That Support" | Brooker Hoping For Foxes Fans Backing On Double-Header Day

We’ve been really strong as a bowling unit, especially bowling Yorkshire out the way we did at Headingley, that was a fantastic effort. The starts we’ve had with the bat have put us in the positions we want to be in, but it’s been frustrating not to get over the line.

We’ve reflected a lot and talked about the intent we want to show. It’s about putting those parts of the jigsaw together into a complete performance now.

We’d love to have as many people down as possible to support us. I came to the Men’s game last Friday night and the atmosphere was amazing. The way the boys got over the line with the home crowd behind them was incredible. Hopefully we can have something similar.

Tickets:

Entry to both matches on Sunday is granted via a single ticket, which can be purchased ONLINE, starting from just £7.
