Leicestershire Women’s Finals Day ambitions could be handed a huge boost if they can topple tournament-favourites Yorkshire at Uptonsteel County Ground on Friday.

The White Rose have already qualified for the final four, while the Foxes sit second “ with a game in hand - in a finely poised North Group table.

Part one of a decisive double-header day alongside Leicestershire Men, Stephen Franklin’s side will be looking to maintain their 100% T20 record on Grace Road this summer.

“The team are itching to get out there and put in a strong response to Sunday’s disappointing display. We know what we’re capable of and those levels weren’t close to the standards we’ve set.

“There was a great determination in the way we trained this week. The energy levels were up and we cited the lessons we want to put into practice in the middle on Friday.

“It’s always special to play cricket at Uptonsteel County Ground. We’ve been really strong at home this year and we want to set the tone for the Club by on Friday by continuing that run.

“We competed extremely well against Yorkshire in our two away encounters, so we want to put in a complete performance and get over the line this time around.”

Squad:

Sophie Bennett returns to the squad as she bids to make her first T20 appearance of the campaign. Lucy Higham is on duty with The Blaze, while Laura Crofts is unavailable.
