Match Preview | Women's T20 Blast | Yorkshire | 8 June 2025

Part one of an epic double-header day at Headingley, Leicestershire Women will be aiming to avenge last weekend’s defeat to Northamptonshire when they take on tournament-favourites Yorkshire on Sunday.

The Foxes were in control for much of their Blast opener against the Steelbacks last weekend but ended up falling short by eight runs in a tight run chase.

Yorkshire got off to a winning start at Headingley, defeating Derbyshire by eight wickets thanks to four for 13 from Ria Fackrell and a quickfire 42 from opener Georgie Boyce.

“It’s A Challenge We’re Relishing” | Franklin Prepared For Yorkshire T20 Test

“We’ve spoken heavily as a group around the areas we need to be better in, especially as a batting group, building on our starts and keeping the scoreboard moving.

“Our opening partnerships and the ability to take wickets throughout an innings has been really impressive, they are the blocks we have to build on.

“On paper, Yorkshire are the toughest game because of the calibre of players they possess and the depth in their squad, but it’s a challenge we’re relishing.

“The key message will be to enjoy the occasion, rather than letting the occasion get the better of us. We’ve got an opportunity to play at a Test match ground, so let’s embrace it.”

Squad:

Flora Davies and D’Nica Roff both come back into contention for selection, while Sophie Bennett is also vying to enter the XI. Hayley Brown is unavailable this weekend.

Leicestershire Foxes: Brooker*, Bennett, Colquhoun, Crofts, Davies, Herathge, Phillips, Roff, Sweet, Thatcher, Watson, Weston, Whitfield.
