It’s the start of a huge finale weekend at Uptonsteel County Ground, kicked off by Leicestershire Foxes vs Middlesex on Friday afternoon (2pm start).

Victory over Essex at Kibworth on Tuesday made it five wins from six in Group A, as the Foxes strengthened their space in top spot.

Martin Andersson’s hundred inspired Middlesex to a resounding 134-run victory over Notts Outlaws last time out, their first win of the campaign following three defeats and a washout.

Last Time We Met:

The previous meeting between the two sides back last August was a memorable one for Leicestershire, who took victory by 15 runs at Radlett’s idyllic outground.

Wiaan Mulder was the star of the show with bat and ball, scoring a majestic 116 not out before taking 4/47 with the ball “ his List A career bests in both disciplines.

The fixture was also memorable for Nat Bowley’s maiden fifty, as he helped put on 83 in just five overs with Mulder to conclude the Foxes’ innings.

In Focus:

Tom Scriven is showcasing his skills in all departments for Leicestershire during this competition. After taking his career-best 5/66 in the opening round win at Surrey, the all-rounder has recorded eight wickets at 29.38, with only Chris Wright and Josh Hull claiming more poles for the side.

He’s also had some useful cameos with the bat, including 20 not out at Lancashire as the Foxes set their record List A score and an unbeaten 26 to get the side over the line at Hampshire.

Scriven’s sharp work in the field to run out visiting captain Tom Westley on Tuesday also showed his worth to the Foxes in the field.

Opposition Player to Watch:

Talking of players capable of affecting the game with both bat and ball, Ryan Higgins is having a campaign to remember.

The all-rounder has taken seven wickets at 23.29, while top-scoring for Middlesex with 212 runs at a healthy average of 53 and strike rate of 138.56. He’s a man the Foxes need to keep quiet.

Squad:

Colin Ackermann’s call-up to The Hundred means he is unavailable for selection. Matt Salisbury and Harry Swindells are added to a 14-strong squad.

Leicestershire Foxes: Budinger, Evans, Handscomb+, Hill*, Hull, Kimber, Mulder, Patel, Ramji, Salisbury, Scriven, Swindells, Walker, Wright.
