Mike Claims Six-Fer While Scriven Shines Yet Again

Into their final few rounds of cricket Down Under over the weekend, Leicestershire’s stars continued to shine - with a six-fer, a solo effort and an excellent all-round display among the headline performances.

Ben Mike, out for a duck last Saturday “ atoned in spectacular fashion with a six-wicket haul to fire Northern District to their sixth win of the season.

The Foxes Academy graduate returned figures of 21.3-6-69-6 to take his two-day tally to 17. After running through the UTS North Sydney top order, dismissing the home top four, Mike returned to pick up the final two wickets and earn a commanding victory.

Tom Scriven kept up his outstanding winter with bat and ball during Croydon’s opening day clash with St Bernard's OC. The all-rounder top scored with 55 as his side were all out for 182, before taking both wickets to reduce the hosts to 29/2 at stumps.

Scriven ended day one with impressive figures of 8-5-13-2 and is now averaging just 9.25 with the ball this winter. With the bat, he’s been equally efficient - averaging 61.5.

With a couple of one-day tons already to his name, Rishi Patel registered the highest two-day score of his stint with Bayswater CC, putting on 78 before a batting collapse ensued.

Opening the batting, Patel made 78 from 143 balls (6x4, 1x6) before his team scuppered a healthy position of 120/3 to 167 all out.

Ian Holland also bowled economically, claiming 2/15 from 12 overs during Ringwood’s victory over Dandenong in Victoria.

There were quieter weekends for Roman Walker (6, 25b) and Louis Kimber (6-0-30-0) after solid showings last Saturday.

Rehan Ahmed was forced to watch from the bench as England suffered a 4-1 IT20 series defeat to India, while Alex Green has also been unused by England U19s this week.
