Next Leicestershire Cricket Society speaker: Gary Barwell, Head of Sports Turf & Grounds at Warwickshire CCC.

The Leicestershire Cricket Society is delighted to announce that Gary Barwell, Head of Sports Turf & Grounds at Warwickshire CCC will be their next speaker.
Gary spent 15 years as a Groundsman at the Upton Steel County Ground before moving to Trent Bridge as Deputy Head Groundsman. Following a two-year spell at Trent Bridge, Warwickshire CCC brought him on board for his current position.
He and his team are responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the pitches at Edgbaston which hosted fifty-one matches in seventy-one days this season.
Gary still lives in Leicestershire and is an avid Leicester City fan, following the team home & away.
The meeting will be held on Thursday 30th October, starting at 7.30pm in the Charles Palmer Suite at the Uptonsteel County Ground. Bar open 7pm “ Visitors very welcome £5.
