Leicestershire Men are looking to end on a high on home soil, after suffering a 22-run defeat to Notts Outlaws on Tuesday evening, while the Steelbacks were beaten by four wickets at the hands of Derbyshire Falcons on Wednesday.

Leicestershire Women were involved in a thrilling tie away at Suffolk on Sunday. Matilda Prince starred with figures of six for 14 from her seven overs to dismiss the hosts for 209, before Becki Brooker’s 80 (82b) took the Foxes to the brink of victory “ falling one run shy.

Last Time We Met:

The previous meeting this year saw the Steelbacks take victory by eight wickets. Louis Kimber crashed 41 from just 27 balls on his return to the team before Naveen’s superb cameo of 25 (8b) gave the Foxes a chance.

But Chris Lynn struck an unbeaten century for the second time in as many seasons at Wantage Road to help the Steelbacks canter to victory.

The last fixture at Uptonsteel County Ground saw the Foxes take victory by the narrowest margin “ as a hot-headed encounter saw Leicestershire win by a solitary run.

Head-to-Head:

Tom Scriven is relatively junior to T20 cricket. Tuesday was just his fifth appearance in the format, but his precocious talent was evident.

The all-rounder took fantastic figures of 4/21 from his allocation, showing his death bowling abilities with a stunning final over which yielded just two runs and brought two wickets.

Freddie Heldreich is just 21 years of age, but he already has 28 matches in the bank, totalling 37 wickets at 21.21 in that time. Left-arm spin has been a thorn in the Foxes side in recent times, so the way the batting unit play him could be crucial to the outcome of the match.

Squad:

Lewis Hill rejoins the squad after recovering from a hand injury, while Sol Budinger also enters the 14-strong squad. Louis Kimber misses out after suffering an injury to his hand when fielding on Tuesday evening.

Peter Handscomb will captain the team, with Colin Ackermann stepping back from the role for the final three games of the campaign.

Assistant Coach Alfonso Thomas and Batting Consultant James Taylor will take charge of First Team duties this evening.
