Phillips Stars in Historic Premiership Triumph for Glenelg

Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s overseas player Ellie Phillips has played a key role in a historic day for Glenelg District Cricket Club, helping secure their first-ever Women’s 1st Grade Premiership in South Australia.

Phillips was instrumental in the One Day Final victory, delivering a standout performance to guide Glenelg to silverware in a match that will be remembered for both its significance and quality. Her contribution under pressure once again highlighted the all-round ability she brings to the Foxes setup.

The final marked a milestone moment for Glenelg, with the club claiming their maiden Women’s 1st Grade title. It was a fitting reward for a dominant campaign, capped off by a composed run chase and strong performances across the side.

Adding to the occasion, three new women’s records were set during the final, underlining the high standard of cricket on display and the magnitude of the achievement for the Bays.

Phillips’ success overseas is a source of pride for Leicestershire CCC, with the all-rounder continuing to impress during her time away from Uptonsteel Grace Road. Her performances not only reflect her individual quality but also the strength and depth within the Club’s women’s programme.

Everyone at Leicestershire CCC congratulates Ellie on her success and looks forward to welcoming her back ahead of the upcoming season.
