Rain Scuppers Foxes' First Pre-Season Fixture Early

Due to heavy rainfall across the past week and the unfavourable forecast for the days ahead, Leicestershire and Leeds/Bradford MCCU have mutually agreed to cancel this week’s planned three-day pre-season friendly at Weetwood.
The Foxes were set to head to West Yorkshire for Wednesday’s annual MCCU curtain-raiser, but an early decision has been taken as a result of current ground conditions and the poor forecast ahead.
Paul Nixon’s side will instead train at Uptonsteel County Ground for the remainder of the week to prepare for a double header of two-day friendlies next week at Grace Road.
The visit of Northamptonshire will now kick off the Foxes’ pre-season fixture schedule, starting on Monday, 27 March, before fellow East Midlands county Nottinghamshire make the trip on Thursday, 30 March.
Please be reminded that due to the ongoing redevelopment work at the Pavilion End of Uptonsteel County Ground, both fixtures have been forced to be played behind closed doors. The Club will endeavour to stream the action where possible.
