Rehan Ahmed Selected For Sydney Sixers Big Bash Gig

Leicestershire CCC Academy graduate Rehan Ahmed has received his maiden call-up to the Big Bash League after being picked up by Sydney Sixers in Sunday’s draft.
The 19-year-old was selected as part of a trio of English draft picks by the three-time champions, with James Vince and Tom Curran also heading to the Sixers this winter.
Ahmed, who made his England T20 international bow during the tour of Bangladesh earlier this year, has 40 T20 wickets at an average of 26.9, bested by a return of 4/22 away at Durham in 2022.
With the bat, the all-rounder has scored 246 runs from 28 innings, striking marginally below 115. His best score of 49 arose when opening the batting for Leicestershire against Northamptonshire Steelbacks in June.
The thirteenth season of the BBL is scheduled to take place from 7 December 2023 to 24 January 2024.
