Rehan Ahmed will fly to Pakistan this week to join England’s ICC Champions Trophy squad after being named as a replacement for the injured Brydon Carse.
The leg-spinning all-rounder has featured in six One Day Internationals for England previously, picking up 10 wickets at an average of 23.3 “ bested by 4/54 against Ireland.
Ahmed’s professional debut came in List A cricket for Leicestershire as a 16-year-old against Yorkshire during the 2021 campaign.
England take on Afghanistan on Wednesday, before concluding the group stage against South Africa on Saturday.
