Leicestershire’s Second XI completed a comprehensive victory over Nottinghamshire on the third day at Kibworth, winning by an innings and 80 runs.
Seam trio Matt Salisbury, Roman Walker and Will Davis shared nine wickets, while young spinner Uttam Ramji picked up the final wicket to fall.
Resuming 203/3 overnight, skipper Tom Loten (86*) and Sam King (75*) started the day in the defiant fashion in which they ended day two, with the Foxes attack yielding a miserly 15 runs from the opening 11 overs of the day.
With the fourth over of the new ball, Loten (110), who had gone to a 233-ball hundred six overs earlier, was trapped leg before by Salisbury.
Savin Perera (7) became Salisbury’s second victim of the morning, with his forward defence taking the outside edge through to Swindells behind the stumps.
King went to a century of his own (222b) at the conclusion of the 92nd over with a couple off Salisbury, but the Foxes bowler got his revenge two overs later, pinning King in front for 102 on the stroke of lunch.
Notts took lunch 277/6, leaving Leicestershire four wickets shy of victory.
It didn’t take long to strike after the restart. Roman Walker dismissing Fateh Singh (20) with his first ball of the session, caught behind by Swindells.
Dan Blatherwick (1) fell LBW to Davis in the following over to accelerate the charge, before some late innings stubbornness from the Notts tail.
Nine overs had passed before a peach from Walker rocked back James Hayes’ (20) middle stump.
Leg-spinner Ramji wrapped up the win, claiming a deserved wicket. The 18-year-old, playing just his third SEC match, had Bailey Wightman (6) caught at backward point by Salisbury. Notts all out for 330, Leicestershire winning by an innings and 80 runs, their fourth win in six so far this term.
