Tattersall To Join Foxes On Loan Ahead Of Permanent Move

Jonny Tattersall has joined Leicestershire on loan until the end of the season ahead of his permanent switch from Yorkshire on 1 November.

The 30-year-old, who signed a three-year deal with the Club earlier this month, will be available for the Foxes’ final three Rothesay County Championship matches, starting with the visit of Gloucestershire on 8 September.

Tattersall’s arrival strengthens Leicestershire’s promotion push heading into the final month. Alfonso Thomas’ side currently sit 28 points clear of Glamorgan and 52 points clear of third-placed Derbyshire at the summit of Division Two.

The wicketkeeper-batter “ who has scored 3,056 first-class runs at an average of 33.95, holds notable experience of winning promotion, having captained Yorkshire to Division One last summer.

He will join Middlesex opener Stephen Eskinazi, and the returning Ben Green, who have also agreed loan deals until the end of the campaign ahead of their full-time moves to Uptonsteel County Ground.

Foxes fans will be able to get a first look at Leicestershire’s newest addition next week, with Tattersall set to feature for the Second XI against Lancashire at Loughborough Town CC.
