With just 80 days to go, the countdown to the start of the 2026 County Championship season is well and truly on.
Leicestershire will begin their red-ball campaign at Uptonsteel Grace Road on Friday 3 April, welcoming Sussex CCC for what promises to be a historic occasion. The fixture marks the Club’s first First Division County Championship match in 23 years, a milestone moment for players, staff and supporters alike.
After years of hard work and determination, the Foxes will once again be competing among the elite, with a home crowd set to play its part in ushering in this new chapter. Anticipation is already building for the return of top-flight county cricket to Leicester, as excitement grows ahead of the opening ball of the season.
