Four new outdoor hospitality pods, believed to be the first of its kind in First Class Cricket have today (14th March 2024) been installed at Leicestershire CCC’s Uptonsteel County Ground in readiness for the upcoming 2024 Season.
The new barrel-shaped pods can accommodate up to six individuals at a time and are being located on the boundary of the ground, near the Milligan Road entrance, with a perfect side-on view of the wicket.
During County Championship fixtures, which starts at the ground on Friday 12th April versus Sussex, the pods will be available to members, spectators and supporters to use completely free of charge. However, for the Club’s T20 and One Day Cup fixtures, the Commercial Department will be selling matchday dining and drinking experiences in each of the pods.
Commenting on the new arrivals, Sean Jarvis, CEO of Leicestershire County Cricket Club said; “Watching live sport continues to evolve and the experience of doing so is becoming more and more important to spectators. Only a couple of seasons ago we installed a marquee at the ground, which has proved very popular with regular sell outs. For this up and coming season we wanted to introduce something new and an innovative approach to watching cricket. Our team are currently finalising the packages that will be available but they can be booked through contacting Clairefinn@leicestershireccc.co.ukâ€
The Club is also currently looking for a sponsor of the four pods, which would include high-profile branding around the highly visible area. If you are interested in sponsoring the pods please click HERE.
