Women and Girls Honour 2024 Campaign at End of Season Awards

Leicestershire Women and Girls celebrated a record-breaking 2024 campaign on Sunday, as the Club’s First Team and pathway sides came together for their annual End of Season Awards.
The evening toasted a year of outstanding achievements across all age groups, recognising the continued elevation of Women’s cricket at Uptonsteel County Ground.
In a season of success collectively, both the First Team and Under 18s posted their highest ever totals and set their largest ever margins of victory, while the Under 15s finished at the summit of their T20 group.
Individually, the Foxes rewrote the history books. Becki Brooker’s opening day 145 was the highest individual total by a female Leicestershire player at any level, while Flora Davies became the first female player to score a century at Grace Road.
Captain Brooker won Women’s Batter of the Year for the second season running after topping the Foxes’ run-scoring charts with 401 runs at an average north of 40. Joint-leading wicket-taker Hannah Francis was chosen as Bowler of the Year, while Sophie Bennett was nominated by her peers for Players’ Player of the Year.
17-year-old Sophie Lawrence, who starred in her debut season at senior level, rounded off the Women’s winners, taking home Coaches’ Player of the Year.
At Under 18 level, Prisha Thanawala “ who averaged above 50 - picked up Batter of the Year, while 27 wickets for Lawrence scooped her a second award of the evening as Bowler of the Year. Faye Stanley earned recognition in her maiden summer at the Club, earning Fielder of the Year, with free-scoring Davies named Coaches’ Player of the Year by Head Coach Stephen Franklin.
Averaging 69.40, Under 15’s star Faith Teekasingh was selected as Batter of the Year, while leading wicket-taker Hannah Toyne took home Bowler of the Year. Elise Williamson received the Fielder of the Year trophy, while Ava Kemp was selected as Coaches’ Player.
Elodie Robinson won Under 13’s Batter of the Year, with Rihanna Underwood awarded Bowler of the Year after topping the side’s wicket-taking charts. Wicketkeeper Imogen Major picked up Fielder of the Year, while Zyana Burdett was crowned Coaches’ Player.
Grace Holland secured Batter of the Year at Under 11 level, while Harriet Fox-Johnson scooped Bowler of the Year. Millie Angrave won Fielder of the Year, while Lilliana-May Dunkley was chosen as Coaches’ Player.
