The latest product of the Leicestershire Academy, Green made his professional debut for the Foxes aged just 17 during the 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup. The right-arm seamer took two wickets against Yorkshire in an impressive first showing, before going on to make a further two appearances as Leicestershire reached the semi-final stages.
Having been awarded his maiden professional contract that September, Green made his first-class debut in the final game of the 2024 season, featuring in a draw against Derbyshire at Uptonsteel County Ground.
Green’s progress continued into 2025, where he became the star of Leicestershire’s One Day Cup campaign after taking 18 wickets, the joint-highest in the group stage. His returns included three five-wicket hauls from seven matches.
The 6ft 7” star’s talent has also been recognised on the international stage, earning regular call-ups at England Under-19 level, headlined by figures of five for 50 against Scotland in a Youth ODI at Loughborough.
A further feather in his cap, Green was later selected for the Professional County Club Select XI to challenge Zimbabwe’s Test stars at Uptonsteel County Ground as part of the touring side’s preparations for the one-off Test against England.
