A promising right-arm quick, Headley joined Leicestershire’s Academy in 2024. Son of former of England bowler, Dean, and educated at Stamford School – who have also nurtured Academy graduates Josh Hull and Zak Chappell – the teenager boasts strong pedigree from his roots.
Debuting for the Foxes at Under-14 level during the 2021 campaign, Headley has gone from strength-to-strength in recent summers, culminating in a superb 2024 season in which he took 37 wickets at 19.59.
They included his maiden five-fer (5/48) in a Championship draw against Northamptonshire, while he ended the Under-18s County T20 Cup as the joint-second leading wicket-taker (12 @ 13.08) as the Foxes finished as runners-up to Kent.
Headley’s ascent continued into 2025, starring with a stunning five-wicket haul (5/28) on Second XI T20 debut against a strong Yorkshire side at Kibworth.
