Wood, who began his journey with the Foxes at the age of nine, first put pen-to-paper on a professional deal ahead of the 2024 campaign.
A 6ft 4” all-rounder, Wood debuted for Leicestershire against Nottinghamshire in the 2024 Vitality Blast, taking his maiden wicket the following day against Derbyshire.
He went on to debut in both List A cricket and first-class cricket later that summer, scoring his first fifty in the penultimate County Championship clash of the season away at Northamptonshire.
The Markfield-born star was an ever-present in Leicestershire’s Second Eleven Championship title-winning team in 2023, helping Dips Patel’s side finish unbeaten at the top of the table.
It followed a superb 2022 campaign, during which Wood passed the 1,000-run mark at an average of 42.56 and claimed 36 wickets.
