Affectionally known as Franky, Stephen leads both Leicestershire Women and Leicestershire Under 18 Girls.

One of the longest-serving members of the LCCC family, Franky’s first association with the Club stretches back to 2003, playing county age group cricket at under 15 level.

He played through to under 19s, before joining as Women’s Head Coach in 2009. After coaching alongside his Sport & Exercise Science degree, Franky joined the Club’s full-time staff as a Cricket Development Coach as part of the Community Team.

Franky has overseen the rise of Women’s cricket at LCCC, including leading the side to T20 Finals Day glory on their maiden appearance at Uptonsteel County Ground in May 2022, and victory during the first ever double-header at Grace Road in June 2023.

He is an ECB Advanced Coach (level 3) and is currently studying to become an ECB Specialist Coach (level 4). Franky is also an ECB qualified Coach Developer and Assessor.

Franky leads on LCCC’s Summer Camps, Running Foxes Winter Coaching Programme, Masterclasses and MCC Foundation Hubs, honoured in June 2023 as the inaugural ‘Hubs Manager of the Year’ for his work orchestrating the latter in Leicester.

He has also coached England Women Indoor Cricket Team on numerous occasions, including at World Cups in South Africa (2011), New Zealand (2014) and Australia (2009).
